BelloStage-3000 controls the medium level and air flow in BelloCell bottles by its internal tray periodically pushing up the bellow of BelloCell and then decompressing the bellow. BelloStage-3000 provides a capacity of four BelloCells, which produce up to 1010 cells (equivalent to 80 roller bottles, or about 500 T-150 flasks).
 
BelloStage-7000, the brother of BelloStage-3000, allows the culture system to run in the “continuous” mode with external medium supply by peristaltic pumps (BelloFeeder). Each feeding/harvesting program can be individually set up.
 
BelloStage-3000 is for use of BelloCell-500, BelloCell-500A, while BelloStage-7000 is for use of BelloCell-500P, BelloCell-500AP.

Principle:

The BelloStage machine allows the culture medium inside BelloCell to rise and descend, submerging and exposing matrices periodically, by compressing and decompressing the bellow of BelloCell. During aeration when exposing the matrices, cells attached to porous matrices are exposed to the air through a thin liquid film. In the submerging phase, cells are in direct contact with the fresh medium for up-taking nutrients while metabolic waste can be diffused as well as CO2 can be exhausted efficiently. The concept of the design is to solve problems (shear stress, limited oxygen supply, and low cell density) frequently occurring on the commercial models, and to simplify the operation.

The main console of the BelloStage machine is placed inside the incubator, while its control panel can be magnetically attached outside of incubator door for easy access. BelloFeeder-1400 allows the medium supply and harvest for three BelloCells at a time.
